Technology moves so fast that it’s hard to keep up with it.
During the ERE Expo last week, speaker Matthew Jeffery took us into the realm of recruitment 3.0 with his presentation Recruitment 3.0: Why traditional recruiters will be replaced by “emotional marketers”. Matthew explained that 3.0 centers on the idea of creating engagement and an emotional connection with candidates. During his presentation, he offered the following ideas for building engagement and creating relationships:
- Expand your social media presence into a two-way communication communities. Engage and entertain your candidates.
- Reach out to your applicant database and invite them to join your social communities
- Add the hiring manager’s LinkedIn profile to the job description
- Be authentic. Hand a camcorder to your employees and let them capture the culture of your company
