The Four C’s of Onboarding

The Four C's of OnboardingIn this onboarding report, “Onboarding New Employees: Maximizing Success,” the SHRM Foundation laid out what it sees are the Four C’s of onboarding:

  • Compliance – An onboarding system gathers the required new hire paperwork in one spot. The singular process drives compliance by ensuring that fields are completed and that the signed documents are stored in one location.
  • Clarification – Online onboarding software has a clear checklist of documents that need to be completed. All of the documents are clearly labeled and named, so the new hire can complete each with certainty.
  • Culture – You can customize the onboarding system with a Welcome Letter and Welcome Video to welcome new hires even before they officially arrive on the job.
  • Connection – With status-driven workflows and email notifications, HR Managers can stay up-to-date on a new hire’s progress to help sustain momentum.
